Leadership and creativity does not come from a vacuum, but it is a strenuous effort made by man and with all his strength to reach the desired degrees of mastery, and in her scientific career, which exceeded twenty years, the Faculty of Arts at Gharyan University was a source of science and literature for all its students and those who worked in it, there is no title in it for laxity and shortcomings, no matter how difficult and harsh the circumstances, and the flags of language, literature and humanities were studied in it.
Its students acquire the finest and latest sciences, as a number of its professors hold scientific seminars to develop the vocabulary of the studied curricula in order to communicate with the great development that the world is witnessing today.
With all seriousness, diligence and determination and the finest scientific and educational methods, professors pursue their methods to benefit their students and provide them with useful knowledge that serves the country and contributes to its advancement.
Professors in the faculty participate in local and international conferences, until their participation has become an important asset for the prestigious Gharyan University.
The steps of success do not come from a vacuum, but are formed by the foundations and premises based on the unity of teamwork based on actual participation between the college and research and governmental institutions inside and outside the surrounding municipalities, in order to ensure a graduate who has sufficient tools to solve the problems facing him and his beloved country.
The college seeks to obtain a certificate of institutional academic accreditation hopefully, with the care and attention of Dr. Muhammad Ghouma, President of the University, and the college, like other faculties of the university, is about to obtain accreditation for its programs after meeting the accreditation requirements in its various standards, and a scientific committee has been assigned that includes Dr. Director of the Quality Office and the membership of a number of faculty members to complete these programs. As a matter of functional compatibility between its units and departments and other departments and colleges of the university, by motivating the scientific departments to develop and update their programs in the manner required by the university's regulations. The college intends to introduce some new departments in view of the requirements of the labor market.

Description
After the issuance of the decision of the General People's Committee for Education and Vocational Training No. (787) of 1999 to join the University of the Western Mountain to the University of the Seventh of April in Zawiya, the decision of the Assistant Secretary for Services Affairs No. (136) of 2000 was issued, which stipulates the establishment of the University of Departments in various divisions of Libya at that time. Among them was the People's University of Gharyan, and under this decision, the Department of History and Geography, the Department of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies and the Department of Foreign Languages were established, and the Department of History, Geography and Foreign Languages was opened in the maintenance building in Gharyan, Then he was transferred to the current college building in Al-Asaba in (2001), where other departments were opened, namely the Department of Interpretation, Psychology and Sociology.
In 2003, the college included a group of departments, namely (Arabic language - Islamic studies - English language - French language - geography - history - philosophy - psychology - sociology - libraries).
Since the scientific, educational and research movement in the college is in continuous development, the college has developed a graduate program in the departments of the college, namely (Islamic Studies - Arabic Language - History - Psychology) and the Department of Geography and the Department of Philosophy are under construction.
The Faculty of Arts is determined, within the strategic plan, to open more scientific departments, whether in undergraduate studies or graduate studies and in various disciplines, and all that the capabilities and the labor market require it.
Vision
The college seeks to achieve excellence, leadership and scientific excellence in the field of university education and scientific research, in addition to providing an academic climate that helps the student to learn and develop his culture that contributes to building society and knowledge by graduating qualified researchers and active leaders in society.
Message
The college seeks to discover and disseminate science and knowledge in various branches of the humanities in addition to preparing those who are able to innovate and compete in the labor market to contribute to building a knowledge society capable of competing locally, regionally and globally, by upgrading the college's program and its various specializations in response to the diverse needs of society and the challenges of comprehensive development through pioneering scientific research that contributes to the development and service of society in accordance with the standards of academic preparation, and to benefit from this research in various fields of sustainable development.

One of the objectives of the college is continuous development and modernization, to meet the needs of society of specialized scientific cadres to keep pace with the scientific and technological progress witnessed by the contemporary world, by achieving the following:
1-Improving the level of effectiveness of the educational process, spreading the culture of quality and improving performance.
2- Developing academic programs and courses to meet the requirements of contemporary society.
3 -Supporting scientific research and preparing and qualifying researchers efficiently and distinctively.
4- Contribute to community service through research projects and advisory services that help develop education and solve community problems.
5-Commitment to excellence and modernity in providing courses, educational programs and scientific activities of high quality in the departments hosted by the college.
6-Continuous preparation and participation in programs and courses with the aim of refining skills and abilities and developing cumulative scientific experiences.
7- Encouraging and supporting researchers to produce a distinguished quality of scientific research and participate in scientific conferences and seminars at the local, regional and international levels.
